Not to be a downer (because I am an optimist) but did you know that:

  • 50% to 80% of new agents get out of the business within 12 months?

Veteran Agents...many are struggling...taking second jobs to wait out the current market.

Below are the February stats for King and Snohomish Counties in Washington State, a state that is supposedly "holding up pretty well". Let's see how February 2008 compared to February 2007...

King County

  • Solds: down nearly 27%
  • Average Days on Market: Up 20%

Snohomish County

  • Solds: down 36%
  • Average Days on Market: Up 42%

We know it's a tough market...what are you going to do about it?

I suggest that you can weather this market - any market for that matter - by simply having the right habits. Plain and simple, agents fail only because they have not effectively contacted enough people to generate the business they need.

3 habits to create the success you want:

  • Self Discipline - this is without a doubt the most difficult to achieve...you can do it and ask for help if you need it
  • A simple doable plan - don't react to the market embrace it and rise to the top
  • Take a few steps each day

If you struggle with any one of these thinigs you are not alone. In fact, 85% of the successful agents struggle with at least one of those items.

Here's the key to making it in this market - accountability!

Would you like to Close More Deals this year?

I found those phrases to be inspiring and thought provoking.

Is Technology Hindering or Empowering You?

We all tend to have a love hate relationship with technology. We love it when it works and we don't when it's not.

Hey, because I know how you feel I've come up with three tips to save yourself from technology:
  1. Take your computer right now and chuck it out the window!
  2. Vow never to upgrade your system...keep using Windows 98 Second Edition
  3. Don't wait till you get frustrated get help!

I hope one of the "life saving" tips is useful for you. What's my favorite you ask? Thanks for asking, my favorite is the number three.

Why? Because "one can be the loneliest number you'll ever know...and two can be as bad as one..." (3 Dog Night tune - Number one) ;-)

Of course, number 3 is my favorite because that is what I do. I help people improve their relationship with their computer...reconcile the relationship so to speak. Have someone be a partner with you to help you, train you and to be a resource so that when something just isn't working right you don't get frustrated you just give them a call.

Don't let technology frustrate you...call before you get frustrated.
